Dry cupping is een holistische therapie uit de traditionele Chinese geneeskunde waarbij cups met een licht vacuüm op de ingeoliede huid worden geplaatst. Het bevordert de doorbloeding, maakt bindweefsel soepeler, vermindert spierspanning, triggerpoints en pijn.

Om een optimaal effect te bereiken, kan ik cuppen combineren met massage. Momenteel geef ik geen gezichtscupping.

Na de behandeling kunnen er blauwe of rode plekken verschijnen, wat normaal is en na een paar dagen verdwijnt. Cupping kan statisch of dynamisch worden uitgevoerd.

Cupping wordt onder andere afgeraden bij:

Absolute contra-incidatie (geheel niet):
* Zwangerschap
* Koorts
* Infectieziekten, zoals verkoudheid, griep
* Kanker (tijdens bestraling of chemo)
* Huidaandoeningen/zonnebrand
* Gebruik van bloedverdunners

Absolute plaatselijke contra-indicatie (plaatselijk niet behandeld):
* Vaatziekten (o.a. spataderen/rosacea/couperose)
* Trombose
* Oedeem
* Pacemakers
* Moedervlekken die afwijken of andere afwijkende vlekken

Deze behandeling wordt niet vergoed door zorgverzekeraars.

Dry cupping is a holistic therapy from traditional Chinese medicine in which cups with a slight vacuum are placed on the oiled skin. It promotes blood circulation, makes connective tissue more flexible, reduces muscle tension, trigger points, and pain.

To achieve optimal results, I can combine cupping with massage. Currently, I do not offer facial cupping.

After the treatment, there may be the appearance of bruise-like marks or redness, which is normal and typically fades after a few days. Cupping can be performed statically or dynamically.

Cupping is not recommended for the following conditions:

Absolute contraindication (complete non-exclusion):
* Pregnancy
* Fever
* Infectious diseases, such as the common cold, flu
* Cancer (during radiation or chemotherapy)
* Skin conditions/sunburn
* Use of blood thinners

Absolute local contraindication (locally untreated):
* Vascular diseases (e.g., varicose veins/rosacea/couperose)
* Thrombosis
* Edema
* Pacemakers
* Moles that deviate or other abnormal spots

This treatment is not covered by health insurance providers.
